It wasn't too long ago when the giant conglomerate Beyond Meat hit the stock market with an almost $2 billion valuation back in 2019. Just in the first day alone, the stock soared up more than 150% in just one single day. But it didn't stop there. Beyond Meat continued to climb and grow to a valuation of over $14 billion by the end of 2019.
Why? In my opinion, the answer is simple. The heads of this giant corporation thought they had the world's next greatest product since sliced bread. There was only one problem: they are so far out of touch with the everyday person.
Because of that, their current company valuation sits at a dismal $800 million. Still big? Yes, of course. But that is over a $13 billion loss in less than 4 years.
Looking at other news articles and listening to the company's executives, there is a whole slew of excuses as to why this happened. The reality is, people simply don't want it.
It doesn't matter how much marketing dollars or fake BS claims they put out on the internet. People want to enjoy meat the way God intended it. From a farmer who uses the beautiful countryside to raise real meat.
So what does the future hold? Well, don't count on seeing any less of them for now. The fake claims, over-the-top excuses, and hit attacks on red meat will continue to shower down. The beautiful thing is, none of that will matter because it's not what the people want.
