The joy of walking up to that Thanksgiving table filled with amazing food is a feeling that only comes once a year. However, getting that delicious layout of food isn't always the easiest. How much turkey do I need per person? 

On average you will need 1.5 - 2 lbs of turkey person! So if you have 15 people coming, you will need around 30 lbs of turkey. 

 

Do I need to wash my turkey before cooking? 

No! The USDA advises against washing your turkey! Simply unpack and cook! 

 

How long should I dethaw my turkey for? 

On average, it will take about 24 hours for a turkey to fully dethaw. Its highly recommended to let your turkey fully dethaw before cooking! 

 

How do I keep the turkey from drying out? 

Make sure you add a few inches of turkey or chicken stock to the bottom of the pan before cooking. Also make sure to keep the pan covered tightly with tinfoil and baste often!

 

How long should turkey cook for? 

It can vary based on many factors but a good rule of thumb is 15-20 minutes per pound of turkey. Be sure to use a internal thermometer to check the breast and thigh section of the turkey. The internal temp should be 165!

 

Can I deep fry a frozen turkey? 

NO!!!!!!!! Unless you want to go viral on social media or be apart of a fire call, do not put a frozen turkey in a fryer!!
